I conceptualize and execute an annual high concept event and dining experience in my role as Director of Celebrations at the Fairmont Olympic Hotel Seattle. Each year twenty event planners are invited to enjoy an evening filled with good company and excellent food, all the while enveloped in a story told through design. In order to bring this concept to life I source and put together a team of talented Pacific Northwest event professionals.

For the “Low Tide” concept guests experienced a space filled with the elements and character of the Pacific Northwest presented in a contemporary way. The charming and chandelier-filled Georgian Room welcomed guests dressed in requested evening apparel who took in the sophisticated live edge wood table, land and water projections on the wall and a pop-up forest made of real trees and greenery. Executive Chef Andrew Whiteside created a custom menu to complement the theme served in an elegant style by the hotel’s banquet team.

Before the reveal of the Georgian Room guests were surprised to be driven around the block in vintage cars, which added an element of joy and sense of discovery to the evening.

The goal of the event was to interpret the PNW’s unique relationship to land and sea in glamorous and exciting way. As well as create a renewed sense of discovery and wonder in an intimate dining experience.
