They say that the eyes are the window to the soul. Well, I happen to believe our eyebrows are the window frame that holds it all together. We’ve all heard about the importance of polished brows and let’s be honest the ladies have it down. But what about the men?

No doubt most men require some convincing before scheduling an appointment at a salon but I remember the same being said about mani/pedis. According to a ravishly.com article 77% of men have gone to the salon with their partner…and that was in 2015. See what I mean?

For a gentlemen achieving perfect brows is about finding a balance between looking overly manicured and as though a caterpillar is resting above their eyes. Take it from me who, I have to admit, has ended up with pencil thin lines that resemble a shoe lace. But that was then and after some refinement here are the reasons for the modern gentleman to take the plunge:

• Masculine & refined: a sculpted brow line can do wonders for creating a clean, polished look. When you think about it, the first thing you do when meeting someone is make eye contact and bushy brows can be rather distracting.
• Chiseled lines: allowing an esthetician to gently (and I repeat gently) arch your brow will create a shape that compliments the lines and structure of your face naturally. The Italians call this sprezzatura; “a certain nonchalance, so as to conceal all art and make whatever one does or says appear to be without effort and almost without any thought about it”.
• Confidence: the old adage is true: when you look good you do good. Hitting the spa is a quick and easy way to polish your look and exude confidence that will impress literally everyone you know and meet.
• It’s fun: I mean seriously, I look forward to spending ten minutes lying down in a relaxing spa while an esthetician freshens up my look. Knowing I’m going to look afterwards is just an added bonus. By the way, if you live in Seattle my go-to gal is Maria at the downtown Gene Juarez Salon and Spa. She’s a miracle worker!
