Sage Advice

While I obsess over new designer collections and runways I always find that my fashion fix is balanced by the equally anticipated flood of street style stars during fashion week. For me it’s fascinating because they exude an air of raw confidence with a fresh perspective. Capturing that perfect street style image – of the man effortlessly exiting a fashion show or scrolling through his iPhone – is no easy task and while catching up on fashion week street style I noticed a reoccurring trend in New York, London and Milan: sage. Stylish men wore this green-gray hue on jackets, suits and sweaters. Sage pairs well with most skin tones and is a refreshing alternative to the military and forest greens that have dominated men’s fashion over the years. It’s “earthy” yet pairs well with polished metallics and formal, structered textiles. I have no doubt we will see more of it as spring arrives.
