4 Unique Style Combinations that Up The Ante this Holiday Season

The holidays are hereeeee! It’s the time of year makes me excited for holiday cocktails, Friendsgiving and spending an afternoon finding the perfect gifts for my friends and family. With several winter weddings ahead of me I’m looking forward to creating a little holiday magic for my brides. As always, I have a couple holiday parties to attend which got me thinking about holiday style. It’s hard to ignore all of the amazing inspiration on my Instagram feed while my wardrobe clients are asking what they should wear that aren’t your standard cranberry red, green or a Santa hat. 😉

I’m always an advocate for unique style that expresses the wearer’s personality and compliments their silhouette…and the holidays are no exception! So, I have put together my four of my favorite style combinations to get you inspired for your next holiday event. Enjoy!

GREY FEATHERS + BLACK LEATHER

I love this combination because it’s perfect for the edgy girl who still wants to infuse some of the festivities in her look. The grey feathers are whimsical and feminine – when juxtaposed with a winter wardrobe classic like black leather this combination makes for an intriguing holiday ensemble.

CARMINE + IVORY

If you can avoid scuffing it, infusing your winter wardrobe with a little ivory allows you to express a soft feminine side while experimenting with new colors and textures. Pair this with a carmine accessory or jacket (a shade of deep red that is slightly purplish) and I have no doubt heads will turn at your next holiday party. And while it might take a couple extra minutes to find this delightful red hue, I believe it’s time well spent to find something unexpected. It pays homage to the traditional “Santa Claus Red” while ensuring you stand out from your peers.

SILK + VELVET

Velvet is happening for me right now! Not only is it weather appropriate for the winter season but when done right has amazing texture and depth. Especially if you’re a fan of wearing something bright and eye-catching, velvet in party-ready jewel tones are sensational. Pair this texture with a sophisticated silk blouse or scarf for a timeless, yet contemporary holiday ensemble.

LEOPARD PRINT + GOLD

I was thinking about how to infuse prints for the holidays when this photo of @maraferreira popped up on my Instagram feed! (She’s so stylish by the way!) I’m a fan of incorporating sparkle around the holidays but the subtle (key word here is subtle) use of leopard print elevates this look and makes it a “yes” in my book.
